Who am I?

Ultimately…I’m just another human on this journey, trying to live an authentic life while seeking better connection with myself and other people. Personal and family therapy has altered the course of my life changing it for the better in many ways and it is the reason I do this work.
Therapeutic Approach
I work from a systems framework, which means I take into account your current and past family, friend, and societal contexts. I use a combination of Internal Family Systems (IFS), solution-focused, narrative, emotionally focused (EFT) and attachment theories with a trauma informed approach. I have also received training by Dr. Greenwald of the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute in a trauma integration treatment called Progressive Counting (PC).
My specialties are relational conflict, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity/ADHD/Autism, chronic illness, parenting, sexuality, gender, and LGBTQIA+ issues. Most of my work is with adolescents, couples, and family systems including individual work.
Background
I have worked with adolescents for almost 30 years, half of that time in a public school setting as a middle school teacher. I loved teaching, but teachers “wear many hats” and I eventually decided to focus on the one thing I thought was most important- mental health.
